Insights 2.0 is a collaborative effort between numerous entities across UNT. The program is a partnership between Data, Analytics, and Institutional Research (DAIR), Analytic Information Solutions (AIS) in Finance and Administration, and ITSS team members from UNT System. The leadership team brings together institutional researchers, data modeling experts, data governance professionals, finance business intelligence analysts, information security professionals, database administrators, web designers, and a network of functional and technical Subject Matter Experts from across the campus.
The original Insights program has achieved broad recognition in numerous higher education forums. Staff have been called upon to help advise numerous national professional associations in higher education technology. Likewise, Insights staff from across UNT have been invited to present sessions at conferences and contribute scholarly articles for publication in ed tech outlets. In 2019, the Insights Program was awarded a CIO 100 award for recognition of the innovative practices that UNT undertook to cement analytics across campus. In 2023, UNT was named one of seven institiutions of higher education selected by AIR/EDUCAUSE/NACUBO to work collaboratively on a $500,000 Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant to improve analytics in higher education.
